La narrazione combina analisi urbanistica e visiva, attraverso mappe, schemi e un reportage fotografico.

EN/ The essay explores the deep and layered relationship between Naples, its urban skin, and the memory embedded in its places. Defined by Carlo Beguinot as a “thick city”, Naples is interpreted through the visceral link between underground spaces and street surfaces: a weave of horizontal and vertical strata that preserve stories, values, and uses. The article investigates urban art, informal reuse, and grassroots regeneration, connecting the city’s skin – façades, interstices, signs, and overlaps – with underground cavities, abandoned architectures, and spaces reclaimed by communities. The narrative blends urban analysis and visual storytelling through maps, diagrams, and a photographic reportage.
